I grew up in the California Bay Area as the third of 4 girls. My family was very artistic and I grew up with a wonderful gift to create! As a little girl I loved all kinds of animals and swore I was going to be a Veterinarian when I grew up. I graduated college with a degree in Molecular Biology but instead of going into Veterinary medicine I wound up working in the Biotechnology field. I love the sciences but continued to love the arts as well. I struggled with career decisions because both of my loves were at completely different ends of the spectrum! I continued to work in Biology and did art during my free time as a hobby. My favorite pastimes were photography, painting, creating miniatures, scrap booking and especially sculpting. Of course, I still love animals and currently have a Great Dane and a cat. When I became a mother in January 2004, I quit my day job to stay at home so that I could raise my beautiful new daughter. My love for animals took a small shift towards a love for babies!
When I first discovered Reborns, I was so impressed with the beautiful realism that some of the artists had achieved. I knew that I *HAD* to try it!
With my new daughter, Sarah Michelle, as my inspiration, I started out on my first doll. I read up on various techniques, joined several forums and even emailed the artists that I admired to ask questions. After becoming proficient on reborns, I wanted to try a new challenge. I decided to try my hand in sculpting. I have always loved sculpting. I started very young with Play-Doh and moved my way up to modeling clay and finally polymer clays. Once I started sculpting babies, I was HOOKED! I found a new calling and passion! I decided that I did not want my dolls to just be beautiful one of a kind dolls, I wanted to capture the true, pure and innocent beauty that is infancy! ...and that is what I set out to do. I am now both an internationally known sculpt artist, known for my fine dolls and reborn kits, as well as a full time mother of two. I am passionate about my family first and my dolls a close second! You can be sure that I have spent countless hours creating each and every one of my dolls. Because I am a total perfectionist, they will not leave my house until I am completely satisfied with them. You can feel confident that your new baby doll or kit will be the best inside and out!
